The Allamakee SWCD is hosting two field days on July 30 at the Waukon NRCS office. From 9-11 a.m. there will be a CRP field day at the prairie planting next to the office. NRCS staff will present along with FSA, DNR, and Pheasants Forever. Topics will include how to manage your CRP, CRP program requirements, how to enroll in CRP, and some basic plant identification.

A Kernza field day will be held in the afternoon from 1-3. The Allamakee SWCD has a Kernza test plot across from the office (next to the US Cellular office). Topics covered will include “what is kernza”, tips for growing Kernza for grain vs. hay, and grazing.
