Don Elsbernd, Allamakee County Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioner, received national recognition as a Soil Health Champion on September 1, 2015 at the 69th Annual Iowa Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners Conference at Prairie Meadows Conference Center in Altoona.
Don is leading by example using a diverse array of conservation practices on his farm that improve soil health and water quality.
“Don is a champion for not only using conservation practices but for making it easier for others to adopt these practices by sharing his experiences and enthusiasm.” says Clare Lindahl, Executive Director for Conservation Districts of Iowa.
